About William

... The enchanter of the evenings

William Jones is a crooner. He’s one of the few artists who’s kept up the good old traditional soulful, smooth, hearty sultry singing in the likes of Lionel Richie, Luther Vandross, James Ingram, Michael Bubblé, Seal etc. These artists he says have all had great influence on him.

He started songwriting at a very early age and learned singing as a young boy from daily singing of gospel hymns and church songs at home with the religious home he grew up in.

He was almost disowned by his father for wanting to become a musician rather than the doctor he was well on his way to becoming. William became famous as a singer during his university days as the lead singer of the renowned Inner Vision Band, also winning the best male vocalist award at school. He hasn’t stopped singing ever since. He’s travelled around the world playing in several countries including Russia, Poland, USA, UK, France, Nigeria, Cuba, Monaco etc.

In 2009 William won the “Voix de la chance” competition in france ( A national talent hunt that involves singing in front of thousands of people and letting the crowd choose the winner using an applause metre). This led to the release of his first single “New Day” in 2010,  followed up by his album in 2012.

Today he is referred to as “ L’enchanteur des soirées” - meaning the enchanter of events- in France where he’s been based for almost a decade and a half now. he plays regularly in posh events around the world. he’s also done music for films, the latest of which is a french  romantic comedy Des amours Desamours which features Anthony Delon, Linda Hardy, Denis Marechal etc.  His song “Soweto” was well received by the public and got excellent airplay around the world thanks to SACEM’s support.
